Im shopping for a new amp at the moment... I'm grading from an MG and I've a budget of around 500 and i'd prefer a combo with no effects. Maybe 700-800 if i sell my old amp. Hi gain stuff please.
Thomann are doing great deals on both the hughes and kettner warp7 and tour reverb models (endorsed by conall;D) so i might consider these. What do you guys think?

They're cool amps alright.
Also check out ENGL and Laney combos.

warp 7 2x12 combo = 444 from musik-produktiv
I'm temped... The cheapest engl combo is a bit out of my range at 750ish... How much are these regor-creaming laney combos?

Steve uses an ENGL, beast of an amp so they are, worth the money if ya can swing it, and if your not looking for something too big.
The clean has a lovely little crisp punch in the tone and the amp's overdrive at high volume really kicks, DEFINATELY worth trying out, they have a few in instrumental I think.

does steve use a combo or halfstack or what?... he uses a THUNDER 50watt Combo, he's had troubles with it ever since he got it though, which is a pity, you put a new set of tubes in it and one of them might go. it's something he went to get fixed but he was told take it back to the shop and claim it under warranty

I had my amp fixed something like 3 times under warranty (having never been the one to blow it I might add). If possible you should always go for something that'll be fixed under warranty. What's the warranty like for stuff on the internet? Is that a really stupid question now?

This thread was long dead, and there's no need to revive it. Start a new thread if you want to talk about amps. This way is just confusing =/

But I'm using everything that's been said before as a reference point and I've learned a lot about amps from reading this thread, not a blank thread that nobody has typed anything in. Lol.
